Departure & Arrival :

l’Alpe d’Huez

91 km
4 700 m D+

From the Alpe d’Huez resort, head for Auris en Oisans, where the first feed station awaits you. You’ll then set off towards the authentic Alpine village of Besse-en-Oisans, where you’ll find a second refreshment station.

Your ascent then continues towards the Plateau d’Emparis, where you can enjoy wild, unspoilt mountain scenery, not forgetting the imposing and mythical Meije glacier.

After this difficulty, you will descend a second time to Besse en Oisans before climbing back up through the mountain villages of Clavant-le-Bas and Clavant-le-Haut to the Col de Sarenne.

Once over the pass, you’ll pass over the heights of Alpe d’Huez before crossing the Plateau des Lacs, which takes you to the resort-village of Vaujany via La Villette. The route then returns along a balcony path through the resorts of Oz-en-Oisans and Villard-Reculas.

The finish at Alpe d’Huez will be on the magnificent panoramic trail that offers panoramic views over the Oisans valley.

As we are working in natural areas, living together with people who use the land you are walking through all year round, we sometimes have to make changes to our different routes, which may slightly modify the distance and/or the height difference. This distance and difference in altitude are therefore given as an indication.
